Alexander Gavrilyuk, DOB August 14, 2003, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, second relapse
We are asking you to help us save our son’s life. Alexander is 6 years old. In 2007, he started complaining about pain in his joints. We thought he fell off the bicycle and took him to the traumatic surgeon at the local hospital. The surgeon wasn’t able to see what was wrong with Alexander. Then we took him to the regional hospital. He was admitted to the traumatic surgery department. When the doctors had his blood test done, they transferred him to the oncohematology department, where he was diagnozed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Alexander has been undergoing treatment for two years. He already had two relapses. He needs a bone marrow transplant. Alexander’s sister can become a donor for him. However, the doctors both in Kiev and in Minsk (Belarus) refused to treat him.
Now we are looking for a clinic, which would agree to admit Alexander. It may be a clinic in St. Petersburg, Moscow, or… No matter which clinic takes Alexander, we won’t be able to pay for his treatment there. That’s why we ask for your help. You are his last hope. Without your help he will most certainly die. Right now Alexander is staying at the regional hospital in Rovno at the oncohematology department.
