Angelina Sukhetskaya, DOB May 13, 2003, brainstem glioma
The name “Angelina” sounds similar to the word “angel.” It is so true for Angelina Sukhetskaya. Although she is only five years old, you can see something light, pure, and calming in her eyes. Of course, we can say the same thing about many other children but not many other children have to go through so much pain and suffering as Angelina did. She was a regular healthy girl, attended the day care center, and enjoyed playing with her friends. But one night, while Angelina was sleeping, her parents noticed that Angelina’s leg was shaking. They took her to the hospital, where Angelina was diagnozed with the brain tumor. Up to the last moment, her parents hoped for a miracle, i.e., for the doctors’ mistake. Unfortunately, the doctors at the Cancer Institute in Kiev confirmed this diagnosis. Angelina is undergoing treatment in Lutsk (radiotherapy and Temodal).

The MRI has shown the changes in the tumor structure. In other words, the tumor is responding to the treatment! The doctors suggested that she should take the second course of the radiotherapy and should continue taking Temodal. The second course started on December 23. It will last for four weeks. Although Angelina has Temodal for this course, her parents borrow it and will have to give it back. Each package of Temodal costs about $320. She needs 5 packages, i.e., $1,600. This is a very poor family. They won’t be able to buy this medication without your help.
