Nikoletta Fesenko, DOB August 18, 2008, sepsis, pyogenic meningocephalitis
This girl with a very rare name Nikoletta is only five months old. She has been in coma for more than half of her short life. Meningocephalitis is a severe disease. It is life threatening even for the adults, not to mention for the babies. Nikoletta was undergoing treatment in Simpheropol but her condition got worse (coma of the first and second degree) and her mother had to take her to Kiev. There her condition got better (precoma). But all of a sudden it got worse again: Nikoletta got sepsis and a relapse. She was transferred to the intensive care unit of the infectious diseases hospital. Her condition is getting worse and worse.
The doctors had to hook her up to the artificial respirating unit and to install a drainage. Nikoletta wants to live but her mother doesn’t have money to buy the medications for her. She has to pay about $150 per day of her stay at the intensive care unit. Nikoletta’s mother is asking for help.
