Irene Olvinskaya has completed the treatment! We would like to say thank you to everyone who offered their support to this orphan. If not your help, she wouldn’t be able to complete the treatment. Now she is on her way back to the orphanage. Irene always knew she could count on you. She still needs help with purchasing Intron A. Irene will need 2 vials of Intron A per month. Ruslan Martynenko has almost completed the treatment as well. He has only one block of radiotherapy left. Ruslan is looking forward to going back home. He is really happy about it.

Ruslan Martynenko, DOB May 19, 2005, malignant granulomatosis
We have got a letter from the mother of a newly hospitalized boy Ruslan Martynenko. She is asking for help. Her story is very similar to many other stories of the children sick with cancer. She is a single mother with three kids. Her husband, who was an alcoholic, left the family and doesn’t help his children at all. Now, when her son fell sick, she has to do everything on her own. The only person who still helps her is her elderly mother.
Everybody in the family loves Ruslan very dearly not only because he is a nice boy but also because he is the only man in the family (he has two sisters). When his mother found a lump on his neck, she took him to the hospital immediately. Ruslan was hospitalized to the oncohematology department. It took the doctors the whole month to diagnoze him with malignant granulomatosis. I have never seen any other mother who would be so devastated by her child’s disease. She has gone through shock, pain, and fear. But then she took a decision to fight this disease. Now she is asking for help. Before Ruslan fell sick, his mother worked at the poultry farm marking the slaughtered chickens. Now she cannot work. This family has no income. However, they have to pay for Ruslan’s treatment, which is very expensive. Ruslan doesn’t understand that. He just wants to live so much!
