I haven’t published any news about Ivan Sikerko for a while. Some time ago Ivan was undergoing treatment in Kiev but now he is at the hospital in Ivano-Frankovsk. I felt very uncomfortable about calling his mother because a couple of months ago I learned that Ivan got problems with the lymph node on his neck again. His parents didn’t have money to take him to Moscow for the examination. I would still feel uncomfortable if not Anna Raikhel’s mother, who asked me to find out the news about Ivan. So, I pulled myself together and gave Ivan’s parents a phone call. Here is the news about him.

Ivan got a very enlarged lymph node in the groin and was prescribed 20 sessions of the radiotherapy. He has already completed five of them. Ivan had 12 sessions of the radiotherapy on his spinal marrow in summer. The side effects of the radiotherapy became obvious only now – Ivan got a very severe tonsillitis. He can’t either talk or swallow. Although Ivan is 181cm tall, his weight is only 40kg. Besides, he got metastasis in the frontal bone. Thanks God, the computer tomography showed that the metastasis in his frontal bone are getting smaller or at least are not getting larger. Ivan will have an MRI in a couple of days, which will give a better picture of the growth. The only income of this family is Ivan’s disability cheque. They cannot afford taking Ivan either to Moscow or to Kiev for the consultation. Although Ivan is very weak in his body, he is very strong in his spirit – much stronger than his parents. He keeps encouraging them so that they didn’t give in. Ivan has a lot of pain. He takes strong painkillers all the time. However, he still tries to smile and asks about the children he met at the hospital in Kiev. I don’t even know what to ask for. Probably, Ivan needs your prayers above all. He needs your very sincere prayers. He also needs your financial support so that to make possible the things we will be praying for.
